The Fast Foiling Ferry or F3 (pronounced \u201cF Cube\u201d) is the fruit of a <\/span>technical and commercial partnership<\/b> between <\/span>Alwena Shipping, MerConcept and VPLP Design. <\/b>It\u2019s an innovative ship concept which lays the groundwork for achieving <\/span>energy transition in the sea transportation sector.<\/b><\/p>\n

This new version is a <\/span>24\u00a0m catamaran designed for urban passenger transport<\/b>.<\/span> The <\/span>City Version of the F3<\/b> is a potential solution to the need for fast, quiet and energy efficient mobility in densely populated coastal cities.<\/span><\/p>\n

Foiling ferries have been around for a long time but the ride could get bumpy. Recent technological innovations have made foiling a very stable experience, ensuring<\/span> passenger comfort <\/b>regardless of the swell. In the absence of noise and vibrations coming from the diesel engines, passengers will be able to use their travelling time aboard for work or doing other activities.<\/span><\/p>\n

Skimming over the water on <\/span>foils<\/b>, the F3 City carries up to 220 passengers at a cruising speed of 35\u00a0knots and uses <\/span>40% less fuel<\/b> than a similarly sized displacement craft.<\/span><\/p>\n
