With the contract secured in late March,\u00a0Vincent Lauriot-Prevost is clearly delighted:\u00a0<em>\u201cIt\u2019s an important project for us<\/em>\u00a0<em>because it\u2019s a one-design that all the leading skippers \u2013 those of today and those of tomorrow \u2013 are going to be sailing.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p>So what can we expect from the\u00a0<em>Figaro\u00a03<\/em>\u00a0when it takes to the water in 2019?<\/p>\n<p>The person to answer that question is Daniele Capua, the project\u2019s leader at VPLP design:\u00a0<em>\u201cShe\u2019s going to be a hybrid boat, one that can behave like a classic and ride foils like her big sisters the IMOCAs.<\/em>\u00a0<em>She\u2019s going to be simple and light, efficient on every point of sail, and capable of opening the throttle on a reach thanks to her foils. In a nutshell, that\u2019s where we\u2019re going with the design of the\u00a0<\/em>Figaro\u00a03<em>.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Projected dimensions: 9.75 m long, 3.4 m beam, 2.5 m
