Une v\u00e9ritable rupture technologique pour une utilisation plus simple et plus responsable de la mer et des \u00e9l\u00e9ments.<\/em><\/div><div>\u00a0<\/div><div>VPLP Design s\u2019est int\u00e9ress\u00e9 tr\u00e8s t\u00f4t aux ailes rigides, puisque le cabinet a collabor\u00e9 d\u00e8s 2010 avec BMW Oracle, vainqueur de la 33\u00e8me America\u2019s Cup. Un int\u00e9r\u00eat pr\u00e9coce, qui s\u2019est poursuivi avec Team Hydros \u2013 Little America\u2019s Cup 2013 \u2013 et la m\u00eame ann\u00e9e, Artemis Racing. \u00ab Cela nous a permis d&#8217;acqu\u00e9rir une v\u00e9ritable expertise en termes de conception en plus de la conviction de l\u2019avenir de ce type de gr\u00e9ement sur d\u2019autres navires \u00bb, explique Marc Van Peteghem.<\/div><div>\u00a0<\/div><div>Si car\u00e8nes et appendices ont connu des \u00e9volutions spectaculaires ces derni\u00e8res ann\u00e9es \u2013 comme l\u2019a montr\u00e9 le dernier Vend\u00e9e Globe \u2013 des changements bien moins radicaux ont affect\u00e9s les gr\u00e9ements, alors m\u00eame que l\u2019efficacit\u00e9 a\u00e9rodynamique des technologies d\u2019ailes rigides n\u2019est plus \u00e0 prouver. Une raison fondamentale a limit\u00e9 leur d\u00e9veloppement : leur rigidit\u00e9, justement ! Il leur manquait jusqu\u2019ici la <strong>capacit\u00e9 de r\u00e9duction de surface<\/strong>, autrement dit l\u2019arisage et l\u2019affalage, comme sur un gr\u00e9ement classique.<\/div><div>\u00a0<\/div><div>Avec Oceanwings\u00ae, VPLP Design ambitionne de proposer une solution simple pour franchir cet obstacle et d\u00e9mocratiser l\u2019utilisation des ailes rigides. \u00ab Nous souhaitions proposer un <strong>syst\u00e8me propulsif \u00e9olien<\/strong>\u00a0s\u00fbr, simple et automatisable, raconte Marc Van Peteghem. Nous avons donc d\u00e9velopp\u00e9 un concept de gr\u00e9ement\u00a0<strong>affalable et arisable<\/strong>, bas\u00e9 sur l\u2019a\u00e9rodynamique des\u00a0<strong>profils \u00e0 \u00e9l\u00e9ments multiples<\/strong> de la Coupe. \u00bb<\/div><div>\u00a0<\/div><div>L\u2019obtention d\u2019un financement de\u00a0<strong>l\u2019ADEME<\/strong>\u00a0a permis \u00e0 VPLP Design de d\u00e9velopper un<strong>\u00a0prototype fonctionnel complet<\/strong> de 8 m d\u2019envergure, d\u2019en valider la faisabilit\u00e9, de fiabiliser les syst\u00e8mes et de boucler les relev\u00e9s de navigation sur les mod\u00e8les de pr\u00e9dictions de performance d\u00e9velopp\u00e9s en interne.<\/div><div>\u00a0<\/div><div><strong>Enti\u00e8rement automatis\u00e9, autoport\u00e9 et rotatif \u00e0 360\u00b0<\/strong>, ce gr\u00e9ement permet d\u2019adapter l\u2019incidence de l\u2019aile quelle que soit l\u2019allure du bateau pour une propulsion optimale tandis que le r\u00e9glage de la cambrure et du vrillage permet de r\u00e9guler la puissance. \u00ab Son efficacit\u00e9, alli\u00e9e \u00e0 un contr\u00f4le optimal, permet, \u00e0 d\u00e9placement \u00e9quivalent,\u00a0<strong>de r\u00e9duire de pr\u00e8s de moiti\u00e9 la surface de voilure des navires qui en seront \u00e9quip\u00e9s<\/strong>\u00a0\u00bb, pr\u00e9cise Nicolas Sdez ing\u00e9nieur en charge du projet. VPLP Design d\u00e9veloppe plusieurs concepts utilisant cette\u00a0<strong>technologie brevet\u00e9e<\/strong>, \u00e0 l\u2019instar de la gamme\u00a0<strong>Komorebi <\/strong>et\u00a0<strong>Komorebi 200\u2019 <\/strong>ou du cargo\u00a0<strong>EMC<\/strong>.<\/div><div>\u00a0<\/div><\/div><\/div><div id=\"ember58\" class=\"ember-view\"><div class=\"reader-article-content\" dir=\"ltr\"><p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\" wp-image-2253 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/dev2024.vplp.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/04\/VPLP-Design-launches-Oceanwings\u00ae-The-Reefable-and-Furlable-Automated-Wingsail-6-300x138.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"580\" height=\"267\" srcset=\"https:\/\/dev2024.vplp.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/04\/VPLP-Design-launches-Oceanwings\u00ae-The-Reefable-and-Furlable-Automated-Wingsail-6-300x138.jpg 300w, https:\/\/dev2024.vplp.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/04\/VPLP-Design-launches-Oceanwings\u00ae-The-Reefable-and-Furlable-Automated-Wingsail-6.jpg 700w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 580px) 100vw, 580px\" \/><\/p><\/div><p>\u00a0<\/p><p>VPLP Design a cherch\u00e9 \u00e0 quantifier les\u00a0<strong>\u00e9conomies de carburant r\u00e9alis\u00e9es<\/strong>, Oceanwings\u00ae pouvant\u00a0<strong>fonctionner en mode mixte avec une propulsion thermique traditionnelle<\/strong>, voire, encore plus avantageusement, avec une propulsion thermo-\u00e9lectrique. Le cabinet a ainsi co-d\u00e9velopp\u00e9 une solution logicielle originale permettant de pr\u00e9dire statistiquement les \u00e9conomies r\u00e9alis\u00e9es sur des trajets optimis\u00e9s. Selon les routes et les navires, ces r\u00e9ductions vont de\u00a0<strong>18 \u00e0 42 %<\/strong>. \u00ab Ces chiffres prennent toute leur importance quand on sait que 90 % du commerce mondial transite par la mer, qu\u2019il est responsable de 5 % des \u00e9missions de gaz \u00e0 effet de serre et de bien plus encore de particules fines, et qu\u2019il est appel\u00e9 \u00e0\u00a0<strong>doubler en volumes d\u2019ici 2050<\/strong>\u00a0\u00bb rappelle Marc Van Peteghem.<\/p><p>La d\u00e9marche d\u2019Oceanwings\u00ae s\u2019inscrit dans une logique de rentabilit\u00e9 \u00e9conomique et de conception responsable. Si la propulsion \u00e9olienne permet une r\u00e9duction \u00e0 deux chiffres de la consommation de carburant, elle ne saurait n\u00e9cessiter un personnel d\u00e9di\u00e9 ; l\u2019automatisation du gr\u00e9ement est donc incontournable. L&#8217;industrialisation, pens\u00e9e d\u00e8s le design, permet de proposer un prix comparable \u00e0 celui d\u2019un gr\u00e9ement performance, amortissable rapidement pour les professionnels.<\/p><p>A son \u00e9chelle, le prototype s\u2019inscrit dans cette voie : install\u00e9 sur un trimaran de 7 m\u00e8tres r\u00e9alis\u00e9 en\u00a0<strong>biocomposites<\/strong>\u00a0par Kairos, la soci\u00e9t\u00e9 de Roland Jourdain, il comprend plusieurs \u00e9l\u00e9ments en\u00a0<strong>fibre de lin et r\u00e9sine thermoplastique recyclable<\/strong>. Une d\u00e9marche qui met en lumi\u00e8re une caract\u00e9ristique essentielle d\u2019Oceanwings\u00ae pour sa diffusion : la possibilit\u00e9 de\u00a0<strong>refit de constructions existantes<\/strong>.<\/p><blockquote><p>\u00ab Oceanwings\u00ae ne pourra pas \u00e9quiper tous les types de navires ni convenir \u00e0 toutes les r\u00e9gions mais nous sommes persuad\u00e9s qu\u2019il trouvera sa place dans des domaines aussi vari\u00e9s que la navigation de\u00a0<strong>plaisance<\/strong>, le\u00a0<strong>yachting<\/strong>, le<strong>\u00a0transport maritime<\/strong>\u00a0(vraquiers, chimiquiers, p\u00e9troliers&#8230;) et la\u00a0<strong>p\u00eache<\/strong>\u00a0en haute mer, affirme Marc Van Peteghem. Nous travaillons aujourd\u2019hui au perfectionnement du prototype et \u00e0 la conception d\u2019une seconde version, rigide, adapt\u00e9e aux navires.
