{"id":4334,"date":"2004-01-26T14:18:28","date_gmt":"2004-01-26T13:18:28","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dev.vplp.fr\/?p=4334"},"modified":"2024-05-02T15:01:09","modified_gmt":"2024-05-02T13:01:09","slug":"lokeya-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dev2024.vplp.fr\/en\/maritime\/lokeya\/","title":{"rendered":"Lokeya"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">VPLP\u2019s collaboration with the Saint Malo skipper and fisherman <\/span><b>Franck-Yves Escoffier<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> has been twofold, designing the 50\u2019 trimarans <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Cr\u00eapes Whaou! 2 <\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">and<\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> 3<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, with which he won the Route du Rhum and the Transat Jacques-Vabre, as well as the <\/span><b>40\u2019 aluminium fishing catamaran<\/b> <i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Lokeya <\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">(name derived from the first names of his three sons, Lo\u00efc, Kevin and Yannig). What are the advantages compared to a traditional fishing boat? <\/span><b>Lower fuel consumption<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> which results in a greater operating range or longer fishing campaigns, greater stability in all weathers, and a larger and more sheltered stern deck to facilitate the crew\u2019s work and enhance their safety.<\/span><\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_10791\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-10791\" style=\"width: 700px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\" wp-image-10791\" src=\"https:\/\/dev2024.vplp.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2004\/01\/IMG_95-min-768x576-1-300x225.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"700\" height=\"525\" srcset=\"https:\/\/dev2024.vplp.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2004\/01\/IMG_95-min-768x576-1-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/dev2024.vplp.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2004\/01\/IMG_95-min-768x576-1.jpg 750w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 700px) 100vw, 700px\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-10791\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">\u00a9 DR<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">VPLP undertook <\/span><b>in-depth studies leveraging computational fluid dynamics<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (CFD) to develop hull shapes suitable for the various load configurations (fish hold and tanks full or empty). Launched in 2005 almost simultaneously with <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Cr\u00eapes Whaou! 2<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, <\/span><b><i>Lokeya<\/i><\/b><b> would completely satisfy the fisherman\u2019s expectations<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.
