{"id":4326,"date":"2021-07-02T14:23:24","date_gmt":"2021-07-02T12:23:24","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dev.vplp.fr\/?p=4326"},"modified":"2023-11-30T14:12:07","modified_gmt":"2023-11-30T13:12:07","slug":"cerulean-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dev2024.vplp.fr\/en\/maritime\/cerulean\/","title":{"rendered":"Cerulean"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Commissioned by the Micronesian Center for Sustainable Transport, a programme of the University of the South Pacific based in the Fiji Islands, and financed by the CNC shipping company, this project aims to develop <\/span><b>a line of simple, robust and sober sailing cargo vessels<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> to transport materials and essential commodities between the <\/span><b>islands of the South Pacific<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Nicknamed the \u201cToyota Hilux of the Seas\u201d after the versatile Japanese pick-up truck of the same name, the Cerulean will be <\/span><b>a vital link<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> in the islands\u2019 supply chain, importing food and building materials. She will also ensure the exportation of raw materials from the islands, some of which have a population of barely a few dozen inhabitants and lie outside conventional shipping routes.<\/span><\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_9701\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-9701\" style=\"width: 699px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\" wp-image-9701\" src=\"https:\/\/dev2024.vplp.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/02\/cerulean-voilier-cargo-768x432-1-300x169.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"699\" height=\"394\" srcset=\"https:\/\/dev2024.vplp.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/02\/cerulean-voilier-cargo-768x432-1-300x169.jpg 300w, https:\/\/dev2024.vplp.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/02\/cerulean-voilier-cargo-768x432-1.jpg 750w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 699px) 100vw, 699px\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-9701\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">\u00a9 VPLP Design<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Cerulean<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> is <\/span><b>a real cargo vessel<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> with a deadweight tonnage of 200 tonnes and the capacity to load and unload without external assistance thanks to her <\/span><b>hydraulic deck crane<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.
