{"id":4192,"date":"2001-01-31T12:30:04","date_gmt":"2001-01-31T11:30:04","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dev.vplp.fr\/?p=4192"},"modified":"2023-12-15T09:56:42","modified_gmt":"2023-12-15T08:56:42","slug":"geronimo-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dev2024.vplp.fr\/en\/racing\/geronimo\/","title":{"rendered":"Geronimo"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><b><i>Geronimo<\/i><\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> then <\/span><b><i>Sodebo Ultim<\/i><\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> then <\/span><b><i>Actual Leader<\/i><\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> then <\/span><b><i>Brest Ultim Sailing<\/i><\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Commissioned for <\/span><b>Olivier de Kersauson<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and built at the Multiplast yard in 2001, <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Geronimo <\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">prefigured the new generation of <\/span><b>record-breaking machines of over 100\u2019<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> \u2013 soon to be known as \u201cUltims\u201d \u2013 that VPLP was beginning to design in the first couple of years of the 2000s.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><iframe title=\"GERONIMO 2004 - Victoire sal\u00e9e\" width=\"800\" height=\"600\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/nSiXiQJd_0I?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Built entirely in carbon fibre and honeycomb core, <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Geronimo<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> was given a very simple remit: <\/span><b>win the Jules Verne Trophy<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. She achieved this goal three years after her launch, in the winter of 2003\u201304, setting a time of a little over sixty-three days.
