It was also an opportunity to combine racing expertise with cruising considerations. Wanting to develop <\/span><b>a fast catamaran from an existing model<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, the skipper customized the hulls of an Outremer\u00a05X to produce a high-performance racing boat.<\/span><\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_10079\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-10079\" style=\"width: 701px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\" wp-image-10079\" src=\"https:\/\/dev2024.vplp.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/01\/catamaran-no-limit-vplp-768x497-1-300x194.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"701\" height=\"453\" srcset=\"https:\/\/dev2024.vplp.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/01\/catamaran-no-limit-vplp-768x497-1-300x194.jpg 300w, https:\/\/dev2024.vplp.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/01\/catamaran-no-limit-vplp-768x497-1.jpg 750w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 701px) 100vw, 701px\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-10079\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">\u00a9 Jacques Vapillon\/Armen Race Uship<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Yann Marilley added bulkheads and carbon-fibre beams \u2013 a carbon mast too \u2013 with a view to <\/span><b>stiffening and lightening the platform<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (about 4 tonnes were shaved off her weight). The after beam was re-sited directly under the cockpit, the latter streamlined so the crew can enjoy the freedom of greater deck space when manoeuvring. <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">While <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">No Limit<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u2019s accommodation and fittings were considerably simplified compared to those of the Outremer\u00a05X,<\/span><b> comfort has by no means been sacrificed<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> for performance. By extending the height of the carbon-fibre mast by a metre, the catamaran is now able to carry a much larger sail plan. Particular attention has been paid to the deck fittings \u2013 sourced from other racing yachts \u2013 and the appendages.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Since launching her in 2015, Yann Marilley has taken part in numerous races in Europe and the West Indies. <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">No Limit<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> took the starting line of the 2018 Route du Rhum, competing in the multihull class, but Yann Marilley was sadly forced to retire from the race.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Other Outremer boats designed by VPLP:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/dev2024.vplp.fr\/en\/cruising\/outremer-5-x\/\">Outremer 5X<\/a><\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/dev2024.vplp.fr\/en\/cruising\/outremer-7x\/\">Outremer 7X<\/a><\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/dev2024.vplp.fr\/en\/cruising\/outremer-55\/\">Outremer 55<\/a><\/span><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/dev2024.vplp.fr\/plaisance\/outremer-52\/\"><em>Outremer 52<\/em><\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>No Limit is the fruit a collaboration between Outremer and Yann Marilley, pro yachtsman and boss of a yard in La Trinit\u00e9.
