She might resemble a trimaran, but the central hull doesn\u2019t actually touch the water and only serves as a platform for the rigging, the accommodation and the cockpit.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><iframe title=\"S-Jet by Airbus &amp; VPLP design.\" width=\"800\" height=\"450\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/W8lUtgJ3IuA?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">VPLP and designer Patrick le Qu\u00e9ment have no qualms about upsetting accepted views and conventions or combining forces with a giant of the aviation industry. Indeed Airbus has for many years been an active player in yacht racing, including the America\u2019s Cup with Oracle Team USA and, later, American Magic.
