The result was <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Groupama 3<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. A little shorter, slightly less beamy but lighter, she was built at the Multiplast yard like her predecessor. This legendary trimaran is simply <\/span><b>one of the most titled on the planet<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">After winning the Jules Verne Trophy in 2010 with Franck Cammas and a rock-solid crew, she was modified in a matter of weeks for solo sailing. The same year, Cammas sailed her to victory in the Route du Rhum, thus achieving <\/span><b>a historic two in a row<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and paving the way for single-handed racing on multihulls exceeding 100\u2019.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><iframe title=\"GROUPAMA 2010 - Le tour du monde en 48 Jours\" width=\"800\" height=\"450\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/mFLLhAQ_ebM?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Sold in 2013 to Banque Populaire and renamed <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Banque Populaire VII,<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> she broke <\/span><b>three records<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> under the steady hand of <\/span><b>Armel Le Cl\u00e9ac\u2019h:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> transmediterranean, Route of the Discovery, and distance run in twenty-four hours. With Armel Le Cl\u00e9ac\u2019h injured, she was entrusted to Lo\u00efck Peyron for the 2014 Route du Rhum, and achieved<\/span><b> a second resounding victory<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_13866\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-13866\" style=\"width: 700px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-13866 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/dev2024.vplp.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2006\/01\/Corps-de-texte-Maxi-solo-banque-populaire-VII-700x490px.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"700\" height=\"490\" srcset=\"https:\/\/dev2024.vplp.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2006\/01\/Corps-de-texte-Maxi-solo-banque-populaire-VII-700x490px.png 700w, https:\/\/dev2024.vplp.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2006\/01\/Corps-de-texte-Maxi-solo-banque-populaire-VII-700x490px-300x210.png 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 700px) 100vw, 700px\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-13866\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">\u00a9BPCE \/ Yvan ZEDDA<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The much-coveted trimaran became <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Lending Club<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> in 2015 and over the course of the season she smashed the Pacific crossing record from Los Angeles to Honolulu, as well as beating the records for Newport to Bermuda and crossing the Channel crewed!<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">She was subsequently renamed <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">IDEC Sport<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> when <\/span><b>Francis Joyon<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> bought her in 2015 for round-the-world racing with a small crew.<\/span><\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_13868\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-13868\" style=\"width: 700px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-13868 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/dev2024.vplp.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2006\/01\/Corps-de-texte-IDEC-700x490px.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"700\" height=\"490\" srcset=\"https:\/\/dev2024.vplp.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2006\/01\/Corps-de-texte-IDEC-700x490px.png 700w, https:\/\/dev2024.vplp.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2006\/01\/Corps-de-texte-IDEC-700x490px-300x210.png 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 700px) 100vw, 700px\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-13868\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">\u00a9 Jean-Marie Liot\/IDEC<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">For the <\/span><b>Jules Verne Trophy<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, she kept the set up <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Groupama 3<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Banque Populaire VII<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> used in their victorious forays into the Routes du Rhum, being light and easy to manoeuvre with her small mast. Francis Joyon and his crew of five set <\/span><b>an incredible record<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> of<\/span> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">forty days, three hours and thirty second at their second attempt, in January 2017.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">And as if proof were needed of this trimaran\u2019s hunger and legendary status, she <\/span><b>won the Route du Rhum for the third time in a row<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> in November 2018, beating Fran\u00e7ois Gabart\u2019s <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Macif<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> in a thrilling sprint to the finishing line.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>In 2023, Alexia Barrier takes the helm of the maxi-trimaran, which becomes <em>The Famous Project<\/em>, with the goal of winning the <strong>Jules Verne Trophy<\/strong> with a 100% female crew in 2025.
